Background

European Regions Airline Association (ERA) is a trade association representing over 60 airlines and more than 130 aircraft manufacturers, airports, suppliers and aviation service providers. Founded in 1980, ERA works on behalf of its members to represent their interests to Europe’s principal regulators and legislators, and to encourage sustainable, long-term, industry growth.

Every year, ERA hosts several events for its members, including the ERA General Assembly, ERA’s flagship annual event, held in a different European location each year. The General Assembly is a pivotal meeting point for over 400 influential members of the European aviation community, with a well-appointed exhibition serving as the networking and meeting hub for the whole event.

The requirement

In 2014, ERA was looking toappoint a new full-service contractor for the ERA General Assembly and had begun to investigate alternatives. The new contractor would need to provide new ideas and excellent service and be able to operate across Europe. The ERA General Assembly exhibition comprises shell scheme, space only, feature and catering areas together with registration and helpdesks.

ERA was looking to provide new and innovative stand options of exceptional quality to its members and to ensure that the entire exhibition space reflected the high-value brands on show, for example, BAE Systems, Bombardier, Embraer and SuperJet International. In addition, it was essential that every exhibitor received excellentservice from the exhibition contractor.

The delivery

For the first event in 2015, Exhibit 3Sixty approached ERA with a fully costed solution that would deliver completely on ERA’s requirements, whilst improving the overall quality of the exhibition on all fronts. Exhibit 3Sixty also focused closely on building ERA’s confidence in its service, explaining in detail every step and design decision for the event build in Berlin.

Exhibit 3Sixty managed all exhibitor orders, requests and assistance leading up to the event, including all specifications for shell scheme or space only stands requirements including electrics, floorcoverings and lighting and graphics, leading to an improvement in exhibitor satisfaction even before the event began.

Exhibit 3Sixty reassured ERA of progress and planning at every stage, maintaining complete transparency to build trust and confidence. When it came time to enact the plans and build the exhibition, Exhibit 3Sixty deployed 10 people in teams to the venue, as they were needed on-site to complete the build in three and a half days.

Outcomes

ERA and its customers were satisfied with the improvement in fit, finish and overall quality of every aspect of the event. The exhibitor order management was faultless, the shell scheme and space only stands were deemed excellent, and every exhibitor was delighted with the quality and accuracy of the graphics. ERA received plaudits and compliments for all aspects of the event from both exhibition clients and visiting delegates.

As a result of Exhibit 3Sixty’s performance, ERA appointed Exhibit 3Sixty as official full-service supplier to the ERA General Assembly in 2016 in Madrid and has continued to do so for all events since, with the exception of 2021 which was rescheduled due to COVID-19.

Exhibit 3Sixty now works closely with ERA on every ERA General Assembly event, integrating its work schedules into ERA’s 12-month planning cycle.
